You can be interested in automation without being ready to buy or build anything. That is a reasonable position. A useful plan should help you understand your options before asking you to make a commitment.
Readiness starts with the business
The OECD identifies skills, data and other resources as important foundations for AI adoption by smaller businesses. The practical implication is that preparation involves more than selecting a tool.
Start with questions your team can answer. Where does important information live? Who owns each process? Which instructions are current? Where do people rely on knowledge that has never been written down?
Bring the people doing the work into the conversation
Ask what slows them down and what they would be comfortable handing over. They can explain why a task is harder than it looks, which exceptions matter and where a person’s judgement is essential.
This also helps distinguish a technology problem from an unclear process. Sometimes agreeing on a better handover is the first improvement to make.
Build a list of possibilities
For each idea, note the task, systems involved, expected benefit and unanswered questions. Group the opportunities into things worth exploring soon and things to revisit later. You do not need to turn every idea into a project.
Keep a plan without committing to a build
That is the purpose of our free on-site consultation. We visit, listen and prepare a free automation plan for your business. There is no obligation to proceed with us.
If the timing is right later, you have somewhere to start. If your priorities change, the conversation still helps you understand how your business works.
